The mission of Raíces is to promote the cultural diversity of New York City and to support musicians, dancers and artists from various backgrounds through providing public performances and instruction, organizing events, seminars and workshops on music and dance and other artistic forms.

 

Our Philosophy 

 

 

Dance. Music. Community. An artist is an educated member of society who knows their history and roots. Dancers, musicians and artists are all scholars enriching the community with their knowledge and service. Artists also hold an important role as the keepers of oral and written cultural traditions. These traditions are to be closely guarded and passed down to the younger generations. By collaborating among each other and sharing ideas we allow for creativity and all its benefits to flow back to the community.
